2026 Career Day with Rappenglitz Messebau
A Glimpse into the Real World of Work: Hands-On Experience with Graphic Banners
On April 20, 2026, the second Career Day for Young Talent took place at the Riem Exhibition Center in Munich. What began with 25 students had grown into a major event by this year: around 100 prospective young professionals arrived at the exhibition center full of anticipation and motivation
This year for the first time, Rappenglitz was a part of it as an exhibitor. It was a whole new experience for us, since we usually help other companies shine and attract attention.
Along with other service partners of Messe München, we also had the opportunity to present ourselves as an exhibition stand construction company this year. The goal of Career Day is to give young people a real glimpse into professional life and to provide them with a realistic understanding of what each career field entails & involves.
Rappenglitz as a Training Company
Rappenglitz is a family-run business with many years of experience in trade show construction, offering a full range of services under one roof - from planning and design to manufacturing and installation. Knowledge transfer plays a special role for us: we want young people to learn, grow, and become part of the team.
Last fall, we were once again able to welcome two new apprentices - one in the carpentry shop and a colleague who is training to become an event specialist. We have already trained several great colleagues to become skilled workers, some of whom are still with us today. We believe that the skilled workers of tomorrow must be “raised” today. To ensure that the apprentices remain loyal to the company, it takes more than “just” the transfer of knowledge. We want to give the apprentices a sense of belonging.
Diversity in Trade Show Construction: Variety at Rappenglitz
It was particularly important to us to show the young people that a job in trade show construction can be diverse, creative, and exciting. That’s why we incorporated individual interactive elements where the students could demonstrate their hands-on approach:
- Precision was key when applying graphics
- Stretching a graphic banner over an LED frame required particular dexterity
- With a little finesse and imagination, a small Octanorm corner was set up.
This quickly demonstrated just how versatile trade show construction is: Here, design, precision, technical understanding, and craftsmanship come together directly.
Learning Through Hands-On Experience
It is precisely this blend of theory and practice that makes an apprenticeship at Rappenglitz such an attractive option. The company not only uses state-of-the-art machinery and sustainable processes, but also combines high-quality craftsmanship with innovative solutions for trade show booths, rental furniture, and event spaces. For young people, this means they learn a trade where they create tangible results and contribute to a variety of projects every day. The Career Day brought this working world to life and demonstrated just how exciting careers in trade show construction can be.
What skills does a Rappenglitz apprentice need?
First of all, an apprentice doesn’t need to know anything yet - that’s why they’re here: so they can learn all the skills they need for trade show construction. But one thing you definitely can’t do without here is motivation! Motivation to learn. Motivation to push through tough times, and motivation to give your best for each and every one of our clients!
